Address Med Concerns for Patients With Dysphagia

You may be asked to evaluate options for patients with dysphagia who have difficulty swallowing oral meds.

It's common in conditions such as stroke...Parkinson's disease...dementia...and head and neck cancers.

Start by reviewing the med list...to see if any meds can be deprescribed. Also look for meds that may contribute to dysphagia...such as anticholinergics (oxybutynin, etc) leading to dry mouth.
